OUR CURENT MISSION

Mason: 6 years old
FOXP1 Syndrome

Meet Mason, Mason is 6 years old and lives in London. He has a very rare disability called FOXP1 syndrome, which affects his development in many ways. Mason can’t speak, and his development is slow to non-existent but he’s full of love, and his smile lights up every room he’s in.

FOXP1 Syndrome

  • FOXP1 syndrome leaves Mason unable to speak a single word at six years old.

  • His development is painfully slow, meaning he needs help with even the simplest daily tasks.

  • The condition is so rare that only a few hundred children worldwide have been diagnosed.

  • There is no cure, and Mason’s only hope lies in costly, specialist therapies and support.

Mason’s Story

Mason is a six-year-old boy in London who has never spoken a single word. FOXP1 syndrome causes severe speech and language (delaysrarediseases.info.nih.gov), leaving him unable to say “Mummy” or “Daddy” and unable to communicate even his basic needs to his family.

At an age when other children are starting school and making friends, Mason’s development remains painfully slow due to FOXP1 syndrome. At six years old, he struggles with basic skills most toddlers have (masteredfoxp1.org) and needs help with every aspect of daily life.

FOXP1 syndrome is extremely rare – only a few hundred cases have been identified (worldwidencbi.nlm.nih.gov. ) This rarity leaves families like Mason’s feeling isolated and fighting to find doctors, resources, and support for their child.

Sadly, there is no cure or specific treatment for FOXP1 syndrome (foxp1.org, ) so Mason faces a lifetime of challenges. His only hope lies in special therapies and constant support. These interventions are intensive and costly, but every act of generosity brings him one step closer to learning, growing, and finding his voice.

Harnessing the power of football to change lives.

Every match day, thousands of fans come together for the game they love. Match Day Mission taps into that passion, turning the energy of football crowds into life-changing support for people who need it most. One match at a time, we prove that football can be more than just a sport, it can be a force for good.

Our Approach

We have a plan that could change everything. Here’s how it works.

On every match day, we set up outside stadiums with our mascot team, inviting fans to stop for a photo and make a small £5 donation. Each game is dedicated to a different cause, so every week we’re raising money for someone new, turning the excitement of football into direct, life-changing support.

Our Approach

Contributing to the match day feeling whilst raising money for those in need.

Donate

Support those in need with donations of any amount.
